Zeffa, an originals band based on the Surf Coast, believes life is about having fun. This philosophy is embodied in the songs, an inventive brand of surf, pop, funk – and shines through on stage.
Zeffa’s influences include (Crowded House, The Bamboos, Cold Play). Zeffa is the brainchild of Phil Hooton who made the sea change from Melbourne to Ocean Grove with his family, a surf board and a pocket full of songs, and formed the nucleus of the band with guitarist David Campbell and bassist Nick Carroll. Together they’ve carved out an impressive portfolio of upbeat melodic original music and honed a distinctive sound. In recent years Zeffa has appeared as part of the Queenscliff Music festival, Airey’s Inlet Open Mike festival, Cowrie Market and the Hook and Vine festival in Torquay.
